It’s been in preparation for several years, with wonderful results including daguerreotypes by Hippolyte Fizeau and John Ruskin and prints by Humbert de Molard and Hippolyte Bayard, alongside a selection of Impressionist paintings. We're honored to have three photographs from our collection among the works selected. Until 22 September.

Publication — I am pleased to announce the publication my text dedicated to the work of Alexine Tinne in the catalog of the exhibition “Ouvrir l’album du monde” at the Musée du Quai Branly in Paris. It is the result of many years of research on a series of anonymous photographs taken in Upper Egypt and Sudan circa 1860, and which I show to be the previously unidentified work of this famous traveler.
“Alexine Tinne (1835-1869), une photographe au cœur de l’Afrique,” in Christine Barthe et Annabelle Lacour, eds., Mondes photographiques, histoires des débuts (Paris: Musée du quai Branly – Jacques Chirac / Actes Sud, 2023), p. 142–147, 389 (in French).
